Customer Scenario 1:
We are implementing MySAP SRM solution - one of the MySAP Business Solution Powered by NetWeaver. SRM need SAP Portal and SAP PI component but we have non-SAP corporate Portals in place and non-SAP EAI tool as our corporate standard integration tool as well, why do we need another Portal and EAI tool from SAP? Can we implement SRM without SAP Portal and PI?

Customer Scenario 2:
We are a global company trying to implement a SAP BI solution. Our subsidiaries are located in different time-zones and using different languages. The planed BI will need to able to help the corporate management to make strategic decision, to help division management to make tactical decision and also to support operational decisions as the plant level. How should we build the systems and what issues do we need to consider while making architectural decisions?

Customer Scenario 3:
SAP Enterprise Portal is required as part of our SAP implementation, but we have a non-SAP corporate portal already and it works great. We have no intention to replace the corporate portal with the SAP Portal. What do we do? If we add SAP Portal to our environment, will our users need to remember one more set of password or can we integrate SAP Portal into the corporate Portal?

Customer Scenario 4:
SAP PI is required by our SRM/SUS implementation, but SAP PI is not our corporate EAI standard, we have WBI and we have no intention to introduce another EAI tool… Can we implement SRM without using SAP PI?

Customer Scenario 5:
We have implemented SAP ECC, BW, SRM, PI and Portal and they are all in production. Our business community continues ask us to implement new functionality. There have been many issues caused by the conflicts between productive operations and new development. Several times, the productive operations were interrupted because some new objects were brought into the system by transports. What do we need to do?

Customer Scenario 6:
We are implementing many SAP components and we need to setup High Availability environments as well as provide a fast Disaster Recovery capability. We have two data centers that are 40 miles apart and we will be using storage technology to replicate data from one location to another. Should we build High Availability and DR environments separately or can we combine them into one?


Performance Tuning Optimization Scenarios

Customer Scenario 1:
Since we have gone live with BW system lat August, the report performance has getting worse and worse. By November, users stopped using the systems since it could not produce the reports that are required by the business. We have contacted both SAP and Oracle development support organizations; we have not been able to identify the root the cause of the problem. Please help.

Customer Scenario 2:
We have just gone through a major upgrade (R3 40B to 470, Oracle 8.1.7 to 9.2.0), many critical transactions have been running very slow after upgrade, and we could not finish batch job at night during the batch window.

Customer Scenario 3:
Certain Z programs run very slow and consume lots of memory during their execution. We need to have the programs tuned.

Customer Scenario 4:
ETL processes can not finish during our ETL window at night. We have configured parallel load processes but it did not help.


SAP Upgrade Scenarios

Customer Scenario 1:
We have multiple SAP installations and multiple SAP applications – R3, BW, Portal and CRM; we have decided to upgrade all productive systems in one chosen weekend. Please help us sort out landscape issues, integration issues and testing issues with this “BIG BANG” upgrade.

Customer Scenario 2:
The current R3 production is 30E, we would like to upgrade to 46C. If we following SAP standard upgrade path, we will need to do a two step upgrade: 30E to 40B, then 40B to 46C. The production downtime for doing the two-step upgrade will be too long and is not acceptable to our business community. What can we do?

Customer Scenario 3:
We have many add-on products and huge number of modifications, we have run test upgraded of a copy of production system. The upgrade and post upgrade procedure took more than 60 hour to complete. We need help to reduce the downtime to within 30 hours so we can have a production cutover in a normal weekend.
